I have also tried to read a bunch of Romantasy. Most I haven’t been able to get through like the book being reviewed, Lightlark, Powerless, The Lair’s Crown, Gild, Bow Before the Elf Queen, and some others i may have forgotten. But I did really like These Hollow Vows, The Revenant Games, Fourth wing/iron flame.

F-words, sex and gore/violence should exist in literature in the proportion that they are necessary to the telling of a particular story. One story might require loads of them while another will require none. But if they are there as mere titillations they are immoral by definition 👎
