LOCH FASKALLY WALK | Pitlochry, Scotland | Painting Scottish Heather in Watercolour | Ep42
Показать описание
Hello & welcome along on this walk! If you're new here - my name is Sarah and each week I head out on a walk with my faithful companion Jack Spaniels, to explore somewhere in this beautiful country of Scotland and hopefully find something to paint back in my studio at home.
Today we are back in beautiful Perthshire again! There was a big storm a few days before, but some of the autumnal leaves were hanging on and it was set to be a beautiful afternoon, so we set off to walk around Loch Faskally.
This is a man-made loch - created when the fast flowing River Tummel was dammed to produce hydro-electric power in the 1950s. We take in the awe-inspiring dam and the peaceful loch that was created in the process, before ending our walk at a cosy Scottish pub with a roaring fire. Perfect!
I was surprised to find a tuft of ling heather growing in the woodlands, with the loch in the background. I wanted to paint another sprig to go with the bell heather I did earlier in the year. This was the perfect example, with the flowers catching the late afternoon autumn light. See how I got on with this deceptively simple painting at the end of the video.

Join me again next week as we explore somewhere else in Scotland and look for painting inspiration...
