Our “big” combine was a 76 model model IH 815 diesel with a 6 row, 30” corn head. Support equipment was a 1965 model IH DCOF 405 road tractor with a 38’ Trailmobile grain trailer, a 1962 IH Loadstar 10 wheeler and a 400 by Grain O Vator auger wagon, pulled by either a 1256 or 1566 IH tractor. Average corn yields back then were 130 bpa. At times the combine would sit with a full tank, waiting for a truck to return from the elevator.

We downsized in 1982. The row crop equipment was sold at auction in 1982. Dad finished out his working years doing custom fertilizer and custom haying work. I went to town, got a job working for an elevator and escalator manufacturer and spent the next 30 years working for that company. Dad passed in 2017. I never lost my passion for farming and red equipment. Thanks for this video!!

Just finished our harvest of 2000 acres of corn and beans with Case IH 2588 and 7230 machines. Good year here in Ky.

Quite a large field. Only two class 9's would take a while. Would like to see the grain handling setup for their farm Jason.

Remember boys...80, 000lbs only on those trucks!! We wouldn't want to jeopardize anyone's safety on the road in the name of speed and greed!!

Bodie farm!
Cool story behind them brothers.
About a 5 star hotel that wouldn’t rent one of them a room. He went in the back talked to the manager and came back with the manager who said get him a room, he owns the ground we sit on.. ha!
Cool to see!
Thank you!

Dad and my oldest brother farm just over 1, 000 acres. We run a John Deere 9770 with a 8 row 30 inch corn head and for beans we run a 35 ft draper. We have a Case IH 305 that we run on our kinze 1050 grain cart. We have 2 semis and 2 gravity wagons that haul to our farm.

We run a Brent Avalanche 1086 Grain Cart on our farm in central New York, and it gets hilly. That being said, we pull it with one of our magnum 280s, it can be a struggle sometimes, but if you use your head and keep momentem up, it does the job we need it to, but it certainly requires you to think

*We had the opportunity to test a 9250 with a 12-row setup this autumn in Western New York – phenomenal combines! The contrast in performance was remarkable compared to our experience in a 14-acre field in Western Kentucky.*

We got to demo a 9250 with a 12 row this fall here in western New York, great combines! We were in a 14 acre field, what a difference in Western Kentucky!

In 1969 the 95 John Deere was a big combine. Dad traded for his in about 1979. It was a good combine.

That’s a lot of corn coming down at one time, great video Jason. We finished corn just over 2 weeks ago here in north central Indiana.

Wow, impressive! Long way from when we used to run an IH 715 with a four row head - we thought we were doing a heck of a job! Ha ha - great video!!

Not everyone can afford to replace their equipment every couple of years, at least not at the ridiculous prices at the moment . The good thing about doing the maintenance yourself is that you not only learn how it works, you at least know that its been done properly dont worry about how long your videos are Andy ill watch em no matter how long they are great video Andy.
