Melon's idea that the national is just 1st world problems is so annoying and such a sweeping statement. Sure the lyrics aren't usually as dramatic but I don't really see how Berninger's lyrics of divorce and existential crisis are just boring '1st world problems'

High Violet is a masterpiece. Boxer is a masterpiece. Trouble Will Find Me is not as good but still incredible. I'm sure this will be up there in their discography, glad melon gave a DAMN.

Being fair, the worst The National albums should be like 7/10, so this one is a 9/10 or even 9.5 easily imo. You may not like this band, but there's so much quality in every album.
