OMG!! I am totally amazed! I just got a baby Frenchie and was 3 days ago and was feeding him what the breeder gave me so I was horrified when my baby began to have violent fits about 2 hours after eating like he was choking then throwing up clear liquid that would even come out his nose. I took him to the vet and they gave him an injection for nausea and special food lowered the amount and increased the frequency but that didn’t help. By the grace of God I found this channel. I take Famotadine for my reflux and cut up a tablet as instructed. I crushed it up and mixed it in his special food. It worked like Magic! My baby has gone all night and all morning without any problems. I am a true believer and forever grateful!!! Thank You

Some other natural remedies for acid reflux:
1. Bananas. They are natural anti-acids, and this is my favorite method for my own dog who has always had acid reflux issues. I give him one slice of banana every 3-4 hours. No burping/vomiting since!
2. Ginger root tincture.
3. Apple cider vinegar (do SMALL doses.)

My 8.5 pound Yorkshire terrier has been throwing up since she was 7 years old. Now 12 it has gotten worse. She was on a drug from vet. famitidine which helped for three months. She didn’t have a good appetite while in it. We finally ended medication and now after two weeks, she is throwing up almost every day.
Once she throws up, she feels better.
She will eat.
I have given her pumpkin before eating, kefir before eating.
Nothing is helping now and I hate to put her back on the medicine.
What can I do? I notice when she is on the medication she is also tired.
What else can I do for her acid reflux?
Why do dogs throw with it and humans don’t?

Could I add slippery elm bark powder to my dog’s food? We have famotidine but getting the tablets down her throat causes her a lot of distress. She’s a 50 lb standard poodle and my powder is 350 mg per scoop.

A safe way to go is to use Pancreatin capsules and Betaine HCI with Pepsin (we use the kind with Gentian Bitters). The drugs have terrible side effects. Slippery Elm is good too!

Isn’t acid reflex low acid in the stomach shouldn’t apple cider vinegar and HCL be administered. I know apple cider vinegar is safe, but I don’t know about HCL.

Or you could feed them a carnivore diet, no cooking oils, and a few vegetables .
