The way the Bootsy snakes through this song is remarkable. This album should be a user’s manual for young funk bass players.

No matter what race, age, creed, or religion you are, it's hard not to love this. Thanx George!

My 66 yr old mother grew up during the 60's and 70's. She brought me up playing the funk/soul/R & B music .. I'm 35 yr old now and shake my head at this new generation of hip hop. My mom still smokes a bowl and blares YouTube in her assisted living complex .. the other old ladies get mad! This is real music people!

Best Funk song of All Time! It has everything. Vocals, bass, drums, synthesizers, guitars, horns and funky ass beat!

Every part of this song is noteworthy. But it's the bass and the drums that really send it out of the park for me.

The very best song to come out the Mothership Connection! A song in a class by itself. Totally Masterclass!! If ever reproduced, it can NEVER, EVER sound like the original studio recording...one of the all time greats!!! Bought this record when it was released in 1975 and couldn't wait to play it at my local night club as the resident Disc Jockey back then. Fun memories of this song...Thank you Mr George Clinton and PARLIAMENT...

Huge hit for Parliament back in summer of 1976. This was really their first big hit as a funk group. They were serious with their music from the late 60s to the mid 70s. It was about 1974 when they went to funk. To me, by far their best album as Parliament was their 1977 release "Funkentelechy vs the Placebo Syndrome.

Whenever times are tough, I always find myself unwinding and eventually dancing to this incredible album. The timeless vibes, funkalicious jams, and uncontrollable urge to groove every single time never gets old !!! <3

Back in college, we has a band and this is the first jam I took to practice my drumming to...also practised the funky bassline...still jamming GEM in 2022...put me right back to drumming it all over again...people watching me like "what Pops, you're not easy!"...I'm in my 60s now....Jam never gets it.

I have always liked '70s era funk among the rest of the music from the awesome 1970s . This was one of the best of the funk songs of that time. In the top 40, summer 1976.
"Flash Light" from 1978 is another terrific one from these guys.

I can tell you what 😁😎 1977 . New Orleans La. 7th grade! The radio stations were killing it man. At such a young age, and being turned on to that type of music. I was blown away, I was hooked, I was jaw dropped! And being a young musician just learning his craft, to hear these cats doing it so effortless was amazing. Everyone in that band deserves to be in the rock n roll hall of Fame. For real.🥁🥁🎵🎶

1975, I was in the United States Marine Corps when this album hit the charts. Always loved this song, and I heard it a lot; since we lived in open squad bays with 35 other Marines. Greetings from Charleston West Virginia, and Im 64 yr old white guy still listening to George Clinton.
