Girl With Muscular Dystrophy Meets DAVID BECKHAM (Inspirational Kids)
This girl was starstruck when former footballer, David Beckham, stopped by to meet her at the Who Cares Wins awards ceremony in 2021. Carmela Watson, seven, from Surrey, UK, has a type of muscular dystrophy (LMNA-CMD) which causes rapid muscle deterioration, meaning her ability to walk is now extremely low. Although Carmela can walk short distances, she tires incredibly quickly from the physical toll it takes on her body. Her mother, Lucy Watson, a 46-year-old full-time carer for Carmela, captured the incredible moment Carmela met David Beckham outside the awards show. As they were waiting outside the entrance to the awards, Lucy and Carmela were watching the celebrities walk past and hoping that someone would stop for a photo, and much to their amazement David Beckham did.
