I know we all love our actors to have their natural accent. But I admire Priyanka Chopra for seeming so effortless to American audience when she blended herself in to the pop culture of Hollywood. She may have put up a facade but she has also broken a lot of stereotypes along the way. For someone like me who has been in the US for the last 8 years and have had my own ups and downs while navigating thru the American way of life, I relate to Priyanka Chopra's switching of accents based on her audience.


For those sitting in India it may seem fake, but PC has ensured that being from India doesn't mean we all look and sound the same way. So while I do agree that she may get carried away by the image she puts out but she wouldn't have gotten the kind of coverage if she sounded like Deepika Padukone.

I don't understand why people bash her for her accent. Honestly, I'm from UP- when I go to my hometown I'm all like "humko nahi pata" and I study in delhi, so there "I'm all meko ni pata". When I talk to some of my Punjabi friends, I just get an accent. I don't do this voluntarily and I even searched for it- turns out it's a totally psychological thing. You have an involuntary need to fit in with people you're with, and sometimes it does happen. If it doesn't happen with you, that's coool- if it does that's cool too. Not everybody's psychology is same. So the people who say that if she CAN talk with an indian accent, why doesn't she- apart from the fact that she obviously could pick it up living for so long abroad, it could just be an involuntary thing. Stop making a mill out of a mole! Just stop with the negativity already
