Halloween Barm Brack

CHRIS’S HALLOWEEN BARMBRACK 🎃

Recipe

350g Dried Fruit
120ml of Tea
2-3 tbsp of Whiskey

500g of Plain Flour
250ml of lukewarm milk (reduce to 150ml if you’re not used to working with wet doughs)
20g of fresh yeast or 8g of instant dry yeast
75g of soft light brown muscovado sugar
1 tsp of salt
2 tsp of mixed spice
60g of melted butter
1 Large Egg

Bake at 200C for 60 minutes. Cover with foil after about 25 minutes to avoid burning on top.

Brush with Whiskey & Honey once baked

You can also add some orange/lemon juice and rind to this if you want. Whatever suits you

Looks wonderful and takes me back to my youth. We had a pea, stick, rag, ring and a thrupenny bit in our bracks back then in Waterford..

I showed some of your videos to my Irish girlfriend who has been living in the 🇺🇸 USA for years. Two days later she surprised me with a Halloween Bram Brack! Oh, it looks just like you's, beautiful. It was delicious buttered with a cup of tea. Keep making your videos.

You forgot a ring. There's always a ring in Barm Brack. Lovely our recipe. It's very much like mine. If you don't want to add brown sugar, you can add black treacle instead. Thanks, Chris, for your own recipe.

It's delicious just tucking in now. Chris mine got very dark quite early on cooking I covered it but wondered if I could do at maybe 190°
