The more theology I learn the more confused I am about what denomination I even am anymore.

I love these well researched in depth videos on topics like this. I am a PCA Presbyterian, and I love that your videos always present me with deeper theological and philosophical considerations. Glory be to God and may we enjoy him forever!

“It is so esoteric and nerdy that it is only a debate within the Reformed Presbyterian Church”
Explains why I, a Catholic, have no idea what you’re talking about, but at least I get to learn something new

The thumbnail has the Minecraft version of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Debrecen on it. And it's supercool.

11:20 The "Covenant of Works" sounds more like "the promise that by obedience to the word we will receive fruits", whereas the Law serves more as a warning about death and what not to do.

COMMENTS ON THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED! I grew up dispensationalist, so I have always assumed some dispensationalist ideas. However, in reading the Bible (on my own, without any guidance, as a true Baptist 😂), I have adopted the idea that there is a continuity between the Old Testament and New Testament, that the OT is still valid for us today, that the grace of Jesus still applied all throughout history, and that God’s people aren’t based on an ethnic group but rather based on those who trust in Him (true throughout all time).

However, there are some pitfalls that come to mind. There does seem to be a clear distinction between Israel as a nation and the church in Romans 9-11. And prophecies/promises in both he OT and the NT seem to be specifically for the Jewish people (God’s people within the Jewish ethnic group). I don’t see any way around this, while still believing in an OT-NT continuity.

The other problem is that there do seem to be dispensations as well as an overarching theme of grace. Almost as if God has Phase 1 and then Phase 2 in His plan. Thus why we don’t have to follow ALL the laws that were given specifically to Israel in the OT Law. Why else was the Law ever given? Romans says that the Law was given to show us the extent of our unrighteousness in order to prepare us for Jesus’ sacrifice. In this case, dispensationalism does seem to make sense.

I’m just going based off of my thoughts so I can help myself in this journey. I hope everything will make sense to me one day. I have my beliefs which I think are consistent but I’m not sure if I will ever be able to adhere to either dispensationalism or covenant theology.

I'm not religious, but theology in itself is interesting to listen to.

RZ, can you do an explanation of the Free Grace movement? I know it's not a separate denomination, but it has had some major rifts, with Lordship Salvation on one extreme, and the Zane Hodges GES schism on the other, with most Fundamentalists still in the middle. It seems such a simple doctrine, yet still has managed to have some major and acrimonious inside battles.

The covenant of grace clearly is a part of all the covenants going all the way back to Adam.

Hello there. I'm a Lutheran, but I live in Armenia and here we have only Oriental Orthodox denomination (Sad that we only have 2 or 3 Protestant churches, they are Evangelical and only in our capital). Nobody talks about Oriental Orthodox denominations, so can you do a "Why I am not Oriental Orthodox" video, please?
Btw, Armenians call their church apostolic and claim, that Armenian church was founded by Thaddaeus and Bartholomew.
God bless you.

A lot of people like to skip over where in the prophets God proclaims he is disowning Israel and how genuinely angered he was with them, then Christ's parable of the tenants. It seems he still has a plan for the people of Israel but his children are those who do his will. Not any bloodline or ceremony.
Not sure how I feel about replacement theory, but contemporary Judaism simply isn't. It's Babylonian Talmundism that follows Rabbi, not the Torah.

Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's interested in Ancient and Medieval Christian history I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's series

Honestly IMO there's a reason why dog is God spelt backwards. IMO dogs are symbolic angels (not saying dogs have souls or anything like that I mean they're a symbol) for humans on how God wants us to act towards each other. Unconditional love and and always ready to play or for a cuddle.
