How To Replace or Install a Dishwasher

Just a tip...at 21:45, tape the electrical wires to the floor so they don't get caught up while pushing the dishwasher into place!

Hardest thing was putting the wiring back.  The ground was so stiff and it took awhile, but once it was all together it shoved in fine.  The darn electrical box was also hard to unscrew, since the manufacturer had decided to make the screw about 1/4 inch higher than the bottom of the dishwasher door, but I used a wrench and got it off.  The rest worked like a charm.

I honestly cannot thank you enough for this great video.  My 14 year old son and I just replaced an old dishwasher at our rental property in about 1.5 hours.  Could not have done it without your help.  Great video, and also found a lot of extra tips in the comments.

To make it easier to slide the DW in with the insulation, you can use packaging tape to secure the insulation to the DW - it also prevents it from bunching up.

One of the best DIY removal/install videos of a dishwasher I have seen. The only thing I see missing in this tutorial, that is quite important, is the "leveling" process of the dishwasher once it is in place. Other than that, great video.

Top tip:
Use the cardboard that came with the box on the top to help slide everything in place, once it's in you can remove the card and the insulation shouldn't bunch up as much if at all.

I just installed the exact same dishwasher and 1 thing that got missed is that when putting in the small metal clips that get screwed into the counter top, you must bend the ends of the clips that go into the frame downward so they are secure before you push the dishwasher into the hole and screw it to the counter top. If you noticed, one of his clips popped out at 19:06 because the ends weren't bent downward. I bent mine downward with a pair of needle nose pliers. The manufacturers instructions clearly explain this. This was a very helpful video!
