When I got into industrial maintenance, an old timer told me 3 golden rules.
1. don't be afraid to ask for help.
2.don't think you know everything.
3. never stop asking why.
They have never let me down.

Gotta respect a feller that says, ”Gee, never done this before.” Then jumps right in.

You should probably change oil on all you're planetary's so you can inspect fluid for any excessive glitter. Good luck men!

Yeah, in the future, you will need to replace these on the other axles, so be prepared and know where to get them. Maybe even buy parts ahead of time so that you have for the other axles.

Every farmer would appreciate a shop like that with a LegArms included.
Cheers.

As bad as a $500 bearing sounds, still a lot cheaper than a payment on a new tractor. Good catch.

I spent three spring seasons treating seed at our local Alberta Pool Agro Centre way back when in the eighties. Actually spent probably eight spring and fall seasons there but graduated to equipment repair and maintenance, field repairs, and custom spraying applicator. Anyway, Scott's standard for the seed treatment is spot on. Making the seed red is over-application, expensive, wasteful, and unnecessarily introducing extra toxic compounds into the soil. I don't know about Montana, but here in Alberta that practice is frowned upon by both, our departments of agriculture and the environment. In this day of raving, radical environmentalist groups; pushing for strictly organic farming methods (their so-called sustainable) which we all know won't feed the world's billions of people and would push our grocery bills through the roof; the agriculture industry - meaning farmers - need to husband the use of chemicals judiciously with minimal amounts being applied, use only as much as you need to do the job adequately. Judicious chemical application is financially beneficial to the farmer and minimizes environmental impact.

My first thought about Scott saying he’s got friends he can call if he runs into something he doesn’t understand and I’m thinking man it would be awesome to have a smart mechanic like Scott to call when I have questions. I think that’s why I like this channel so much is because everyone is so humble about their ability and work ethic. Good luck getting the bearings and good luck with fall planting.

I would replace the bearings and all four tires. If one is bad the others are soon to follow. Thanks for taking the time to create these amazing videos!

Hey guys, I thoroughly enjoy your videos! I grew up farming, your videos bring back pleasant memories. Bob, I noticed that your daughter is a missionary in the Czech Republic. I live near Truett McConnell University and the president's wife; Hannah Caner is from the Czech Republic and her father is a pastor there. I told Hannah about your daughter serving the Lord there. Truett McConnell is a Baptist school and God is doing marvelous things there! May God richly bless you!

You guys amaze me ! You do things the old way, you fix it yourself instead of calling a mechanic. You also know the peope to call when you run into a problem. Love the Big Buds.

Thanks for another really interesting video Scott.
The video was most informative and interesting to see the wheel bearing assembly come apart. The bearing assembly is quite large in size.
I bet that bearing assembly is more than
My guess would be in the range of $1, 000 or more.
I am hopeful you can find one in a reasonable time frame.

Meanwhile there is cleanup to do and get ready to reassemble the bearing and put things back together again and ready for the seeding work to be completed.

Always something with machinery and a farmstead to be done. You all hang in there.
Looking forward to the next video to see how this all came out. Teamwork will always overcome these issues.

Thanks for everything. My blessings and prayers to all of you. Take care and be safe.

The Iowa farm boy.

Man you got lucky on that planetary! It always pays to be real nosey around your equipment. Helps you find issues when they’re less expensive. Notice I didn’t say cheaper…
