I once was a broken angel. Having my dad walk out on me not once but twice. I listen to this song and am able to come to terms with what happened. That it was not my fault he left and that nothing I did could of stopped him.

This is the only song I've ever listened to that has made me cry with all my heart. The first time I heard it I was left in shock - the words sung echoed the feelings I had felt all my life, all the way from me blaming myself to me realising I was stronger than that. And even so, this song, every time and without fail, makes me cry and touches me in a way that no other song ever has.

Thank you Boyce Avenue for being inspired by Broken Angels to write this song--I discovered this song during a time of healing from my own childhood of having a father with a "lazy heart'. Your lyrics have spoken to me in so many ways and you have described feelings i have had but couldn't put into words--"lazy heart" and "the blood in your viens as you carry his name runs thinner than water" thank you for being apart of my healing process. you couldnt understand how much this song means to me and these broken angels. you basically just sang my life to me. i always seem so strong, like you sing in the second verse, but i break down as soon as i hear this, because its so much like my life. this is most definitely the song i will remember you for. thank you so much, alejandro.
