2017 Suzuki 15HP 4 Stroke (short shaft)

Just a quick run through of the motor and how fast it will go.

Ive got the Suzuki 6hp and now I want the 15hp as that is what my boat is rated for. Cool video !

The shaft wasn’t the issue with the speed, the pitch of the propeller is what caused it. The motor was on a bigger boat before mine and I haven’t switched pitch sizes yet

That transom is 15 inches a short shaft is what should be on that boat so if it starts cavatating it’s bc it isn’t trimmed out right.

FYI your hitting the rpm limiter. So what was the pitch of the propeller in the video and what was the pitch that you put on to fix the over rpm

I bet you’re hitting the rev limiter, not the shaft is too short. I bought a new 1 last year & that’s what was happening to me. It came with a 10 pitch prop, I bought an 11 off Amazon & now it doesn’t hit the limiter. I get @ 22 mph on a 16 foot Crestliner with just myself in the boat.
