When Frank on a downturn in his career, early 1950s; he was looking for promotional spots. My Dad was a DJ in the Detroit area, Frank's agent asked my Dad if Frank could do these promos for his radio show, of course my Dad said yes, and my Dad received multiple recordings of Frank Sinatra introducing my Dad's radio show on WLDM in Detroit. We still have them. My Dad passed away in 2018 at 94 years old and when we put together his memorial video we led it off with Frank Sinatra saying 'Ok boys and girls we are going to get to the tunes with my boy Mr. Edward Sawtell, yes siree!' Or words very close to that. Hard to believe but true. There was a period during 50s where Sinatra fell out of favor with the public. He reunited with Nelson Riddle and made his best music during that comeback. Including the Oscar he won as 'Maggio' in 'From Here to Eternity'. Obtw, Ava Gardener went out of her way to help Frank get that role. Hard to believe looking back tho. #americanicon

Very early one morning at the casino in Caesar's Palace in 1988, Frank Sinatra was spending a few moments with a couple of fans. As he said his goodbye and began to depart, Sinatra asked, "Would you boys do a favor for me?" Anything, Mr. Sinatra. "Would you have a nice day, would you do that for me?"

I saw (was in the same room!) Mr Sinatra during his 75 birthday tour, I was hands-down the youngest person there at about 25yrs or so. I was receiving compliments and questions from the 'older' fans (now I'm one, lol) before the show.
Anyhow, the spot was a very intimate setting. The whole time, I couldn't take my eyes off Mr. Sinatra. I couldn't believe I was in the same room as him and hearing his voice live, not through a record or taped show.
"If I may take a moment...my favorite drink, Dack Janiels. Cheers everyone!" (as he raised his glass to us)
However, as he left the show, I was a little more than an arms length away from him and as he passed, he took a moment to address the few of us lucky ones to be there and said, "Thank you all for coming, I hope you had a great evening."
I couldn't speak. But I'll never forget how bright his blue eyes were.
We'll always adore you, Mr. Sinatra.

Martin Short is never less than amusing, interesting, and riveting for anyone with a sense of humor. I so love him, and wish we saw more of him. I must watch “Murders In The Building.” My favorite sketch of his is “Tensions” ”with Jimmy Fallon and Steve Martin.

Sinatra had a voice that is so distinct and beautiful, people are making AI videos of him singing Metallica songs, and we all know it's AI, because Frank can't be duplicated. A guy from New Jersey that stayed relevant, even after death. Yeah. That guy. My idol.

I saw Frank in concert at Pine Knob, Clarkston Michigan. 1975. My parents took my sister and me. I think it was even my sister's birthday in August.
Then years later i bought tickets for my mom and dad to Frank Sinatra and Shirley MacLaine concert.
I remember handing the tickets to my dad he said oh come on are these fake?!
