Literal, actual dinosaurs, man. This sound is exactly what I imagine you'd have heard 60 million years ago.

Never seen them but have frequently heard them throughout my life growing up in Sydney. Only tonight finally decided to look it up. Funny how I’ve never seen them in any trees around but know their call!

Thanks for posting this video. It has taken me ages to find out what the bird I keep seeing and hearing is. Everyone I had asked didn't know. I found a picture that looked similar on a website. But this video confirms it. Cheers,

FINALLY!! I’ve been thinking about that bird call for fucking ages and I could never identify or describe it to anyone. Sounds exactly like a pterosaur.

Their pale, down-curved massive beak, red eye-patch and big pterodactyl-like wingspan and loud prehistoric squawking while flying and while surrounded by flying small birds harassing it is so beautiful to experience.

Just Marvellous!
I am relaxed in a man made comfort tunnel with free air, sight and sound in Melaleuca and Palm Forest on a Shoreline with Brampton Is at 3 O'clock. - perhaps I ought to describe my place as a Channel because a Channel Cuckoo is in front of me. Right now I am looking at an Azure Kingfisher and it's apparent the current compilation is in Sth America. I think the auditory track is not a scholastic match for the focussed image. Regardless, BOTH are SUPERB and physiologically as well as mentally elevating. THANKYOU! to the creative production and depositing team. I am "thinking" Cuckoo fashion heywhat! But truly one cannot exaggerate in praise for what is delivered to the senses by this site and ththat's appropriate pun. Back to the screen and certainly shared with all deserving others.
Thankyou SO MUCH to you Do-ers of BILBY TV. I think you are my #1 Palluative Care Prescription. WoW & Ta again. What a Life!

I once saw a flustered magpie, the unwitting foster parent, stuffing grubs into the mouth of a channel-billed cuckoo chick, which immediately squawked for more. I dislike these ugly birds with their raucous call and parasitic nesting behaviour..

Just had a juvenile in our garden -- we have a pair of currawongs nearby and I'm guessing it grew up in their nest. Very impressive bird.

I’m from Port Stephens and I’ve heard them all the time! I never knew what they were!

We’ve had a pair of crows in residence for three years and they’ve raised cuckoos in alternating years with the in between year where they raised two crows.
They are such good parents and mourn when the cuckoo chick leaves them.
