Written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, this was a double a-side hit for Elvis Presley in 1961, making the top spot in the UK in November of that year. It was Elvis' third UK #1 hit that year and replaced Helen Shapiro's "Walkin' Back to Happiness" at the top of the charts. But who originally recorded this song? Elvis was actually pipped to the post by Del Shannon who released it as a track on his June 1961 album.
