Advanced tutorials like this are a great way to learn how to use various program tools in a single video/project

This was groovy as always. I noticed you don't use any guides. I use them a lot, because I can align things to them without having to go into the align and distribute controls as often. I can add them as I go along and draw an object, add a guide or two on their centers, and align stuff to them where needed. For those who do not know yet: Even guides can be rotated, even to exact angles, then duplicated and manipulated much the same way as paths, but you cannot curve them.

I also always start with one vertical and one horizontal centered to the page, so it's always there to make it easier to have the centers of bounding boxes and what not snap to to their shared center, or on center horizontally or vertically and off center to the other.

This is a really great tutorial. Just one point of criticism perhaps: your cassette isn't big enough to hold that much tape on the wheel 😅 Or rather: there is too much tape on the wheel for the physical space available in the cassette.

Thank you very much!
As far as I could see, the tabe roll on the left maybe wouldn't fit in the case, but the tutorial was GREAT!
Inkscape is so full of features now I can't even imagine it can do...
Thank you Nick!

Thanks for the awesome video. I noticed that on your original design you added a window glare effect that you missed here in the video. But I guess that adds a small challenge for the viewer to figure something out on their own.

Great tutorial again Nick! Learned so much from them. I recently made the same rainbow effect, but I did it by drawing the outer line of the rainbow with the pen tool, duplicated it, flipped it over and used the interpolate path effect to create the inner lines. It's so cool how many ways there are to achieve something in Inkscape.

Your tutorials are great man. I know it's difficult to talk while you work but you do a great job of it. And, on top of that being difficult, you're constantly describing more than one way of doing what you are doing while you do it. Incredibly skillful and helpful. Thanks for what you do!

Oh, the Set Clip and Shape Builder to remove the superfluous shapes - brilliant!

This really is such a great lesson. I'm always fascinated by how you're using mostly simple shapes and alterations to create such cool images and effects. I'm always asking myself how you come up with the way to get to your desired outcome.

I love your tutorials so much! I often make graphical abstracts for material science papers and projects of our institute, and I'm happy with my work, but after watching your videos I always find a more elegant way of doing them.
