It's refreshing to see someone in the CC pick out films they've not seen, that they think will interest them. It's one of the big draws of a large media library, part of the fun of collecting is exploring titles you've not seen.

It's great to see everyone from all generations coming into the Criterion closet and seeing their tastes. The beauty of it all is knowing they're the ones who understand you when majority of people don't, especially when it comes to film history.

Excellent picks!

I love how she grabs the movies exactly the way I do when I’m excited about looking at the cover art lol

I got to see Monica in festival, an amazing film all round and I highly encourage everyone to see it! Trace Lysette is a reserved powerhouse in it through and through.

Love your picks!! Def think Criterion needs more trans and trans adjacent representation, but they got a few good ones at least! Here’s some of my recs they should add (Take notes Criterion!!)

- Tangerine (Baker, 2015)
- Funeral Parade of Roses (Matsumoto, 1969)
- Tomboy (Sciamma, 2011)

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. There are some more recent films that look really good too that I haven’t seen, such as Lingua Franca (Sandoval, 2019) and Joyland (Sadiq, 2022). Anyone here think I missed anything? Please add! 😊

What about Funeral Parade of Roses? Great film about trans people and extremely ahead of its time!

"We need more trans people in the closet"? Don't take that line out of context!!

I don't know if getting high before a Fellini movie is a bad idea or a great idea.
