I got same issue on GoPro 7.. never buying GoPro crap again if they can’t fix this drama

I have the 3.5mm audio adapter from GoPro. Worked amazing for several months with my Rode Micro. Out of nowhere, I got this hissing white noise and no mic audio. I went crazy switching mics, cables, firmwares...nothing, I repeat nothing worked. However, let me tell you. All I did was contact GoPro with video proof with no audio with external mic, and picture of the adapter, and they are sending me a replacement adapter by mail. Hopefully it arrives soon!

gopro 10 for sale. moving to osmo action 3.
no external power. no 90$ audio adapter.
i am not Apple fan. and gopro trying the same tricks.

Someone on youtube (i don't remember who) did ask this problem directly to GoPro.
This is the answer from GoPro:
"The usb-c connector on the mic adapter is NOT for powering the gopro! It's just for passthruegh."
So you have to use a battery to use the mic-adapter.
This is ONLY from hearing. If it's true i don't know. You have to try

Same issue with mine no help from GoPro and haven't been able to fix it with anythinf

I use the Media Mod with GoPro Hero 8 and the 'Audio Input' says Audio N/A and does not give me those options - Standard, Powered etc.
I updated the firmware manually to V2.51
Also the media mod mic is not recognized - in the input/output tab, Audio N/A in grey is all one can read. And when trying to select front/back mic in presets the word "stereo" in grey is all I have..
Do you have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks for the video and clear explanation.
