I have had borderline high eye pressure for nearly all my life. Recently it went up to 28 and my doctor put me on drops, and it went down to 18. Very grateful since I have only one seeing eye. Your explanation about pressure was very informative and educated me on eye issues no one has ever explained to me. The diurnal effect was especially interesting. Thank you.

OMG, dat ws a v powerful n beneficial presentation. Most eye doctors dont evn inform you half as much, assuming unfairly d patient is nt able to digest most of d info. D fact is dey cant or dont want to spend too much time wth an individual patient.
Thank you Dr Elizabeth for sharing d info whch puts patients in a better position to evaluate d recommendations of d eye doctor, n ask further questions if needed. 👍👍

excellent video. One learns so much more from videos like this than from your doctor. Sadly, some doctors are very negligent... and if we don't educate ourselves and don't manage our health ourselves, we are in trouble. Thank you for this video!

I have been treated for high pressure (thick cornea) for several years and recently (1/16/25) had cataract surgery which resulted in corneal edema and much discomfort in that eye. It is slowly improving. Your video was spot on with all my doctor has told me. Thank you.

I did not know that a eye doctor could check if pressure was high, normal, or low by touching the eyelid. I've been undergoing glaucoma treatment for around 37 years, many of which I wore soft contact lenses. I thought I could tell if my pressure was high, normal, or low when I put the lens on and how soft my eye felt as I did so, and it did seem to correlate with the pressure measurements from my doctor every 3 months. I did try to touch my closed eyelid around where my cornea was but could never tell. It seems to work better if I try to touch the upper (sclera?) part through my eyelid. Anyway, I religiously do my 3 month ophthalmologist visits and let the doctor figure it out.

Am so grateful for this presentation prior to now I had no understanding of what the problem is. The eye Doc told me the optic nerve is thin. Thanks for the enlightenment. EXCEPTIONALLY INFORMATIVE.

Does this apply on someone who's eye has silicone oil injection for detached retina?
And does having little sleep increase eye pressure?

Have been dealing with open angle glaucoma for decades. Seems to be at stable rate thankfully, due to regular exams and compliance to medicated eye drops.

The doctor just told me my pressure is high. I wear contacts like 18 hours a day every day for the last 20 years. Can this be a cause ? He said no. I don't get it, they sit right on the cornia.
