Noam Chomsky And Jay Ponti On Occupy And Beyond!

Noam Chomsky is the author of more than 100 books; the most recent include Requiem for the American Dream, and The 10 Principles of Concentration of Wealth and Power, Before coming to the University of Arizona as Laureate Professor of Linguistics in 2017, Chomsky taught linguistics and philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for 50 years.
Jay Ponti is the founder of Be The Revolution, and, among other things, was on the ground during the Occupy’s encampment period and is behind many successful actions. His book, The Political Revolutionary's Handbook, not only gives an in inside look into the organizing that launched that movement, but makes the case that The Occupy Wall Street network is directly responsible for the political rise and presidential bids of Senator Bernie Sanders.

I was active in Occupy Seattle and we were busy. I'll never forget hearing the words "corporate greed" on the local nightly news, and that's when I knew something had shifted in the national conversation.

People say occupy fizzled out and didn't accomplish anything but that is wrong on so many levels. Individually we each learned a lot, we met with local electeds, and we pushed through change that continues today.

However around 2015 is when I started noticing my activist friends refusing to vote for Hillary and saying she was as crooked as Trump and I knew something weird was going on, and now I believe it was Russian disinformation and infiltration because that's what they do and they're good at it. Today the anti-vaxxers have fallen victim to Russian talking points and brainwashing and mind hijacking, I'm convinced.
