Free Maintenance course

I recently rebuilt the motor on a 2004 YZ250F dirtbike. If you own any larger cc dirt bike, chances are a valve adjustment is coming up around the corner for you. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR VALVE ADJUSTMENT. Failure to stay on top of a valve inspection service can cause your bike to be extremely difficult to start or can wear engine components out prematurely.

enjoy!

2:43 Using the side of the big flathead blade usually works too. It’s longer than the blade tip and tapers to fill the slot.

Lock the chain to the cam with a ziptie so it doesnt move while you pull the other cam out next time.

For all the do it yourselves … shouldn’t push your feeler in as you’re depressing the spring, put some oil on your feeler and should just slide in with a little drag, like a piece of paper between two glossy magazines

Cody what are your thoughts on setting the lash to the loosest end kf the range …. Am I too fussy or would it be worth it for a DIYer to do it now since I would have it sort of apart….. thoughts?
