"I'm not seeking penance for what i've done Father...i'm asking forgiveness for what I am going to do"
Best line in the whole show

This opening scene could've been boring, but the way Charlie delivers the lines..fantastic storytelling.

This is what separates Daredevil from all the other MCU stuff.

No cgi, no dramatic music, no inappropriate snappy quips to break the tension.

Just raw Talking.

Kinda like how Daredevil includes religion. I am not Catholic but I still like seeing this. Far to often modern movies and shows are afraid to bing up anything controversial, but the majority of Americans believe there is a God so it makes it mor real and relatable.

I got hooked to this show from this very scene. The way Matt's voice tumbles, the dialogues. I knew I was in for a treat.

2:50 One of the perks of being blind: getting to put your sunglasses on badassily before a quote whenever you want.

Matt: Jesus, he could take a punch.
Father: Language
Captain America: That's right Father, you tell him!

I don't know how people compare this to arrow... It's not even in the same league.

He is the perfect Daredevil not just for the physique. He has a beautiful voice, deep and softly vibrant, with the right timing. I couldn't imagine another actor able to portrait so perfectly well this blind vigilante. I didn't know Daredevil before and now I love it even more than iron man(.. and that's something and a half!) . I really feel connected with this character and i appreciate the fighting parts (really give these guys a grammy, never saw so many movements and such an accurate choreography in other superheroes movies/shows) as well as these ones. Thank you Netflix, i think i can forgive you for having canceled Marco Polo.

Man, the conversations with the priest were some of the best moments from the first season. I wish I could find those.

“be careful of the murdock boys, they got the devil in em” this scene does such a good job of foreshadowing matt’s character arc

Daredevil has always had some of the best action out of all the marvel shows and movies, but the monologues... God the monologues... They are what put this show a cut above, up onto the level of the best dramas and pieces of serious theater of our time

And the delivery is downright shakespearean. Matt gives so many Hamlet vibes with his should-I-or-shouldn't-I morality soliloquies on murder and the whole murdered father thing. Charlie Cox is a brilliant actor, this show will forever be a jewel on his cv

“I’m not seeking penance for what I’ve done father, I’m asking forgiveness for what I’m about to do”
the most badass line ever

"What exactly are you going to do?"

"I'm going to put on a costume and beat up criminals, Father."

"Well, shit, son, you don't need a confession for that. Say two Hail Marys and wash your hands when you're done."

I love this scene so much. Its incredibly acted and written, and it tells you alot about Matt as a character and what some of his faults are. Amazing

Now that's how you start a superb show. Awesome acting. Silent intensity, a whiff about the protagonist s past and character. Delivered with exceptional prowess. I was hooked after this scene. I was like "Oh boy this is gonna be good" . And it rises above expectation every time

Matt: God created each and everyone one of us for a reason?

father: I believe so, yes.

Matt: So why did he put the devil in me?
Why do i feel it trying to claw its way out of my soul?

its not in this vids scene but that scene is badass.

Old video, but I rewatched daredevil recently and this scene got me thinking; Matt describes his father's 'Devil' as 'His eyes would go dead...he'd put his hands by his sides, like he wasn't afraid of anything'. Not only is daredevil a character defined entirely by fear, and overcoming it (the man without fear), it also perfectly describes how Matt greets Fisk in their final confrontation. Dressed in his 'devil' outfit. Dead eyes(red, unable to see the eye itself). Hands by his sides. He isn't afraid of anything, not even Fisk

There's so many great things about this scene, but what I find the most remarkable is the way they use the light in this scene; it's just shady enough to outline his face, while you can see his dark eyes with just these little white dots in them making it look like he actually is some kind of demon or something - it's just awesome.
