The Daily Mail is reporting that Disney's beleaguered live action segment is offering bonanza bucks for Johnny Depp to return as Captain Jack Sparrow. That doesn't seem to be convincing him to return though. What will Disney do as their live action attempts are now joining the CGI family fare in failure? Is there any way to lure Depp back? And is this creating an even bigger situation with other male actors?

At this stage, Disney needs Johnny more than he needs them. Personally, if I were he, I would distance myself from the Mouse That Grooms. The way that they handled the accusations against him was disgusting. He should tell Disney to kiss his ass.

And after throwing him to the wolves over hearsay before any trial let alone verdict could decide, why would he want to go back to those vipers?

Depp should make all these Hollywood companies do a massively public apology if they want him back as part of the contract. They should all say they were wrong to fire him and that they've only known him to be a great and loving guy, as the starting point to hiring him. I won't go as far as saying he needs them to denounce Amber Heard as the liar and con artist she is (even though she is all those things and worse) but they should at the very least bend over backwards to make up for the reputation they worked so hard to destroy, all for a vile person that fled the country.

To add another layer to this: look at how other big franchise male leads have been treated in last bunch of years, most notably Luke Skywalker and now Indiana Jones. Even Thor to some extent. What leading man would willingly sign on to a project with a company that is treating its iconic characters in this way?

Johnny Depp should not go back unless he has creative control and script approval. He has to portray Jack Sparrow right. I dont think Disney will give him that. But if they dont have Depp on board they shouldnt bother making another Pirates movie.
