As someone who's watched the entire Sub/Half of Viz English vs sporadic DIC I actually prefer this theme so much more than the Japanese, the sound effects and changes made here feel so much more better than the Japanese version

It's pretty cool and clever that they actually kept the music to the original Japanese theme, Moonlight Densetsu, and only changed the lyrics so the theme would rhyme and stay memorably catchy while sung in English.
Say what you will about the faithfulness (or lack thereof) of the dub itself and the dialogue within it, but keeping the melody is a nice touch that showed appreciation for the original source material.
