J'aime bien les Italiens qui préfèrent virer de bord par vent arrière sur le leg (!) avant la limite et au moment de tirer leur nouveau bord, pour ne pas perdre de vitesse et ne pas "scotcher" leur coque à l'eau, quitte à s'éloigner de la ligne de passage du bord... Incroyable choix réalisé avec ces bateaux à foils !

Pity the commentators are so biased for GB and US teams. They don't hide their enthusiasm for these teams. This is where sone diversity would be welcome...

Pinching myself that AM is still in this semi. It's a shame they couldn't get a win on the first day in one of those two races both of which they won the start. LR should win this series needing only to win one of the two remaining races. Sailing in this half of the semis has been exciting.

One little thing from a racing cyclist’s perspective. I understand the cyclors have a unique task (beyond the massive wattage spikes they must produce) because their “bikes” do not have a flywheel, that is, they get no inertial “help” as one does on a bicycle or indoor trainer, the latter usually using a weighted flywheel to replicate road feel. So they’re just pushing big watts without any real smoothness, which has to be rough, adding to the physical and mental challenge. I stand by to be corrected, but that’s my understanding. Cyclors in this regatta are really quite unique, outstanding athletes… 😅

I feel bad for Alinghi giving up the cross on 1-2 of race 7. I think they could have pushed for right-of-way, or at least jibed in.

2:21 Why didn’t AM get a penalty? It was very clear that LR was the first one inside the boundary for going around the buoy. The italian protested and there was nothing from the judges. No comment at all??

Stephen McIvor has (it seems to me) improved somewhat of late, but he still frequently drops the ball and misses tricks. At 29:25 he asks an important question: Has Alinghi made any time on this leg? Which he then half-answers by drawing our attention to the time delta as the Swiss round the mark, but completely drops the ball by not telling us what it was around the previous mark. The commentators need to have all this stuff at their fingertips.
I imagine they will lift their game somewhat for the LVC final but there's plenty of room for improvement. The selection of camera angles has also improved, but here again, there's a long way to go, IMO

In the previous America's Cup competition, in New Zealand when American Magic broke down, and almost sank, Luna rossa victory was not celebrated with screams and yells as you have seen the Americans do here.
