I'm a Mom who knew I wanted to homeschool since before I even brought my daughter into this world. So I started accumulating anything I believed could be a beneficial work book, a fun activity, a tool I could use in her education. I had spent so much money on things she either never got to use, or got to use only a handful of times. I had completely overwhelmed myself when it was time to actually start preparing. My child is such a wild and quirky human. It's what I love most about her! However, looking back at this 'prepping' I was doing, it could have stomped out the hunger for learning she has now. I had no idea where to start, and had so many people referring The Good and the Beautiful, so we are finishing up Level K Math (though we are secular), and Blossom and Root. I've learned so much from YouTubers like yourself over the the past year, and am excited for the next year to come! I'm a single mother who is homeschooling on top of a 40 hour job, and my village is small. My family is split on my choice to homeschool, and I have a lot to learn!

I’m a mom of 2. My oldest turned 5 this month, so she doesn’t have to start kindergarten until next year. I purchased some pre-k curriculum and learn to read last Christmas. I’ve just done it here and there with her, but we try to work on reading most days. I work full time (from home), and it’s already hard juggling work, having 2 kids at home all day, being a wife, and just taking care of the home. I have a very supportive husband, and because of his job, he’s home 3-4 days during my work week. He’s on board to help do whatever, which I am very thankful for. I just worry that I won’t be able to handle it all. From what I’ve heard, it may only be an hour for her first year, which I feel like sounds simple enough. I just don’t want to let my girls down. I want to give them the best opportunity and education.
I almost feel like it’s going to be like having a child. You’re never “ready, ” but when it’s go time, you figure it out. I sure hope, at least! 😂

Starting my secular homeschool journey. I live in the state of Utah and I am an ex Mormon I have left a cult. And the reason why we are home schooling is not because we have political qualms or anything with the school system but my son is autistic and has special needs like I have and our culture has a problem with ableism a massive one. I wasn't having my needs met in school the way they should have but I still got a better education than what my child is being given, and the accommodations that they were giving my son were paltry and they were just essentially shoving him in a corner for 2 hours and then sending him home and I couldn't even return to the workforce. They were shoving him an iPad just a game the whole time... Now we've had lots of people say why don't we take it up with a lawyer and everything but we've already lost so much time in the school system and my son is barely a kindergarten level in most things and he's eight. Our problem is if we do fight an advocate how many more years are going to be pissed away and it's

I’m super new, haven’t yet started, my girl is 2 but she loves to learn so starting a play based nature literature homeschool soon. I’m worried that I’ll overplan and it will be too much or I’ll get bored and always be searching for the next best thing to do or try or organize. I worry that I’ll be super excited and my kids will hate it or they won’t even pay attention and I’ll be frustrated. I worry my energy levels won’t be able to handle homeschooling. I am still seeing what works and setting myself up for success, I’m nervous and excited to begin this journey. Former HS public school teacher so I KNOW homeschool is the better option for my family.

I am a mom of an Autistic ADHD child who has been struggling in the school system, even though we picked a charter school in the hopes that it would be friendlier to her a-typical way of thinking. Next year, for the 6th grade, I will be homeschooling. It's such a daunting task, but watching your video was calming. I'm combing through to check out curriculum suggestions, which is the scariest part. I know my kid and how she learns. The pandemic was actually a positive experience for her educationally because it allowed me to work with her 1:1 and we got her reading level up from K to 2nd grade in one semester and she finished the 3rd grade with the ability to read with comprehension. She's now in the 5th grade with an equivalent reading level, which makes me so proud of her. But I learned then that I can do this. So that part isn't hard...it's the curriculum. I appreciate all the time you put into reviews!

I have been homeschooling for 14 years. My eldest is starting college in the spring and my youngest is 8. I started out using curriculum, then we changed, and only did enrichment programs, and the rest was unschooled. We then moved to a time when we were in a structured academic co-op. We moved to activities traveling all over our state with most things nature based. We are now academic part of the time and depending on the child with lots of enrichment and time to pursue their passions. We provide them with whatever tools, equipment, and supplies and let them go for it. All the time we are changing things based on their needs, what I feel they need and our budget. I have some of the most fantastic people in my homeschool!

Thank u for your video.
I started homeschooling Aug 2022 my 3rd grade daughter. I was so worried before I started that I would miss something in her education. I was also looking at boxed curricula but decided against it, I’m so happy I put together everything myself.
I haven’t joined any groups because we r 100% secular and it’s been a bit difficult to find likeminded people. I’d like to find a group mostly to share curriculum ideas and homeschooling tips.
R U part of any homeschooling groups?

I agree so much. When we were new I was always worried what others would think
