5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.

This is very popular in bars up here (Sheffield in the UK) - the full size thing. We also have medium sized that's about 12 foot. Mostly played by drunk people.

Glad that you review this kind of game. My brother-in-law has a 12 foot version with scoring at each end to play four players. It is a lot of fun, but Crokinole rules for me. The cards you can get for Crokinole add ways to play including solo.

I hate to say anything without having tried it and haven't played but still I imagine playing it and still feeling like it doesn't hold a candle to crokinole, hell not even carooka.

Shouldn't you use gliss powder on that? Makes it harder, but much more spectacular. Also protects the surface of your board.

"It's expensive..." "...its expensive." As someone who already owns Crokinole, I don't have the capacity (in terms of physical space, spot in collection, or money in my wallet) for both. Also I'm curious if the shininess of the experience is biasing the opinion. Personally, having played full-sized suffleboard, I'm happy to have the two distinct experiences; Crokinole for the table, shuffleboard for the field/rec center/cruise ship.

Shuffleboard is nice, but it is no crokinole.

More seriously though, I think your point at the beginning of “If I could only play one” lines up with why I would rather have a crokinole board. That, and a large circle is easier to store and transport than a six foot long piece of smooth wood.

I have played table shuffle board before and it is fun, but crokinole is cheaper and doesn’t require as dedicated space.

Had double sided board with Curling format on back.
No need for this crazy price tag of like $500
