Although not quite a staple of the series the Rhino has certainly become a memorable vehicle from the Grand Theft Auto universe. Today we look at the different versions of this armored beast from the different games it appears in.

You forget a thousand things everyday pal, and one of them was the beta version of the Rhino from GTA III. That one was even more of an Armored personnel carrier though looking more like a Condor or like the APC in GTA Online.

Ah yes in an alternate universe where Germany liked big non-cat mammals

I've been making vehicle modifications for GTA SA for a few years now and yes, the reason we don't have any tracked vehicle in the game (with the exception of one little RC toy tank) is due to RenderWare's limitations with animating the tracks itself.

ive come to realize that the driver seat for the Rhino in GTA V is located where the tracks would be passing through

A video about the numerous variants of the Abrams tank in the gaming world would be nice. One example that stuck in my mind is the Thermobaric tank in Prototype.

I was expecting the gun barrel to phase through objects instead of abruptl actually colliding with them.

V's Rhino also looks quite like the Japanese Type 90.

The Rhino's (GTA V/GTA Online) "tracks", are only a texture. The game don't have proper tracks mechanic, all vehicles with tracked suspension, works just like wheeled machines.

I remember pointing the gun backwards and using the recoil to turn the tank into the fastest vehicle in the game in the 3/VC rendition. A little harder to get working in SA thanks to the turret being fixed to the camera better and therefore meaning you can't quite see where you're going... but you sure as hell know where you've been.

I grew up playing GTA3 and the Rhino and fire truck rampages were the best. Rhino was obviously extremely limited in capabilities with it being really slow and having the inability to elevate the gun. The fire truck was usually a much better option due to its ease of access and better speed with the water cannon being more hilarious of a weapon.

As I got into tanks it became a pet peeve of mine that the rhino is hard to kill with an RPG even from the side knowing damn well the side armor is probably around 35-50mm thick (as most modern tanks do) and it doesn't have ERA so shaped charges like the RPG in game would go through it.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the work this man is doing to entertain us. Man thank you very much!

Finally!
I requested a video like this in 2019.

People talked me down, saying the tank was "too generic" and therefore not worthy making a video of.
I laughed last. I prevailed. Here's the review of the Rhino tank, by Cone Of Arc! I'll enjoy every second of it.

Fun fact the rhino in liberty city stories (or possibly liberty city it was long ago) could reach very high speeds using the recoil of its gun.

I for one support the use of recoil powered armoured assault vehicles.

the only strange thing with it is the fact that the driver seat seems to be part of the track cover. look when the character gets in, he would be sitting on the tracks lmfao

Take it from a guy who has actualy spent a lot of time in an actual S-Tank, the stridsvagn 103C to be exact, NO, not all the crew members can fire omperate the vehicle by themself. Yes, the gunner/driver aswell as the commander can both drive and fire the main gun and the two co-axial machinegun since both have the same control bar and both have gun sights. But the third man, the rearwards driver can't. He sits back to back with the driver in the most cramped crew station of the vehicle. His job is to view the large instrument panel, take care of the radio sets behind said panel for the most part. When shooting his job is to load the smoke shells for the main gun when needed by the aid of a hand crank. The rest of the ammo is auto loaded. In combat his job is also to drive the vehicle in reverse. And for this he has a sort of stearing wheel, or more of less than a quarter one as it's not round. He also has a gas and a break pedal. He was usually also the guy who had to stand up and load the two Lyran mortars with illumination shells during night tie shooting. The only way the rearward driver gets to fire the main gun is if he switches places with the gunner/driver.

For cursed by design, can you talk about the Dicker Max/Sturer Emil?

I always wondered what the design basis of the GTA series tanks were, thanks for this cool video cone!
