I have been in Flint all my life too and I am 54. I hate the way it looks now. The past was much better. No one cares about the city no more and it will be our demise. We got too many greenspaces, still too many vacant homes that needs to be demolished now, not years from now. The water crisis alone drove away more people! When will the madness end?

Mr. Washington has a great point. The members of the city council ought to take a bus trip to these under served neighborhoods for a few hours.

All the junk needs to be cleaned up by the ones who dumped it there! How do they get away with it?? It sucks to see your street full of garbage! No one wants to clean it up! This needs to change and it starts with us caring again---all of us!

What needs to be done is all those abandoned homes need to be torn down. Then as areas become big enough, huge tax breaks given to those willing to build manufacturing plants.

Work on clearing out the North end starting just past Downtown. Most of that area was disgusting back in early 90s when I was co-op with Ameritech, and doing repair/installation of phone jacks. Sadly, at the time, there was still some decent folks living there, and keeping up with their homes.
