Thank you for this. I had no idea this was a thing. I am a digital accessibility specialist for a University and I think they may be very interested in this.

Hi, found you here and subscribed. Sounds like lots of info. I only use Jaws/totally blind so not sure my AUS #? I tend to only use YouTube or Bing or my bank site for example; don't tend to stray into too many new websites/have learned to navigate YouTube quite well with just my Keyboard and ears, but uploading videos can be very difficult/no pictures of course, but even just putting audio to a mystery black or whatever background is provided through the new Microsoft video editor is more challenging for me even than their older video editor, but they did not get back to my email. Anyway, now I mostly just listen to other folks . When in YouTube for example with Jaws, fishing for someones reply to your comment can be very hard, but I've found that once you go to the video after tabbing to it in the bell section at top of screen, just hit control F for find and type the word Highlighted and it takes you straight there.
I have found with YouTube using the screen reader I will often post a comment in the past and then go back sometimes only to hear my comment was not posted. Maybe it's some kind of Jaws technical focusing issue as is experienced in software like I use called 'Reaper digital work station for audio for eg:, but to ensure a post is made, I've found that once you hit reply, and even if you can now hear the post, it will say 0 seconds ago, indicating the post is not really going to be there in my experience, but by then just hitting control R to refresh the page it will be fully locked in as a comment; someday maybe they'll fix such glitches.
Carrie, I remember years ago in the early 2000's when I still had a bit of sight I kept trying to use my eyes, but it like you was just so painful physically and exhausting for me, and now with just Jaws and my ears, since now I truly have no other option, I can close my eyes and breathe and think and type and use my ears and it's a much more relaxing yet productive experience than it ever was I think when I had a little sight left.
Thank you for the invite to your channel! Blessings to you.
