Does the vacuum still auto empty if the mop bin is on?

can someone explain to me how I can remove the airfilter to clean it from the J5 combo bin.
the attachement for the wet pad is in the way
so I can NOT remove it in the same way as I can remove the airfilter from the dustbin

I'm so confused. My irobot seems to empty itself? And how to use the mop on the J7? At least I think that's what I have because the box was labeled differently from what the product is. iRobot user help is atrocious. The website is useless. The app user interface is a nightmare. There is nothing....no help whatsoever to be found anywhere.
