Minor Detail is incredibly crafted and is so so impactful!

WHAT! I did not know that Mad Women's Ball was written in French and was a translation.
I've heard that A Discomfort of Evening is just depressing, so best of luck! 😅😂
I want to read The Employees so bad. Look forward to your thoughts on it.
Minor Detail is intense. I loved the mirroring of the stories (you'll see when you read it). It's sort of seems like it's going nowhere but the end is such a gut punch.

Also, I'm weirdly obsessed with your earrings.

After you mentioned Employees in another video, I picked it up and enjoyed it, so thanks lol. I def will also add Unbearable Splendor to my list. At the moment I'm reading Mars by Asja Bakić and The Adventures of China Iron by Gabriela Cabezón Cámara and both are fab so far.

I read recently cursed bunny by bora chung translated by anton hur and the stories was so captivating ! Its got gothic horror vibes, and covers topics like expectations of women for pregnancy, marriage ect
I had to take breaks because the topics was so deep and captivating.

Out of the ones you said four minuets and the discomfort of evening drew me in a lot I recently watched midsummer so thats probably why for the second one .

the impossible fairy tale by han yujoo! i actually only just started it so i can't say how good it is either but the premise sounds rly interesting if you're interested, it's one of those darker ones and if i remember correctly, supposed to be a reflection of kr society and quite an eerie book

V intrigued by Flowers of Mold by Ha Seong-Nan, bc i am a sucker for surrealism. I recently read The Passion According to GH by Clarice Lispector, a mid-century Ukrainian-Brazilian author who’s work has just recently been translated into English by New Directions, and it’s my favorite book I’ve read all year. I’m obsessed with her prose and her sick mind!! Def worth checking out, looking forward to what u have to say abt Seong-Nan🤍
