Have you ever considered Luke 13:24? In response to someone asking if only a few are saved, Jesus says, “Strive to enter through the narrow door.” What does that mean? And why does Jesus say only a few will do so? What does Hebrews also say? “Let us.” How do you get in? By what? Striving. Now look at Hebrews 4:3: “We who have believed.” Anybody feel better now? Here’s the thing—apparently, the author of Hebrews believes that making every effort to labor to enter God’s rest and believing to enter God’s rest are not incompatible. Striving and believing go hand in hand.

Lord forgive me for my laziness. Today I must get moving to strive to seek and do your will.

I’m glad I listened to this message because I have been desiring to be right w/the Lord but I haven’t been striving with Him as He commands, but today’s the day for me to repent & strive, drawing closer to God in obedience. If anyone comes across this post I ask for your prayers that I can strive and make it into the narrow gate.

Another excellent sermon from Pastor Tim.... and one that once again refutes the "P" of the T.U.L.I.P. nonsense (OSAS). The true Christian must continue to abide in Christ, endure to the end, and strive to enter in ... THEN he will be saved. Salvation is a process - we are saved by grace (justification) = the we are BEING saved (sanctification) = the present ... and we will be saved (glorification) = future ... IF we continue to abide in Christ, endure to the end and strive to enter through the narrow door. Otherwise we will forfeit our salvation and end up in the fires of hell (John 15:1-10).

Yes, "striving and believing go hand in hand" .... after we have believed we must strive by the power of the Holy Spirit - then we will abide in Christ and produce much fruit.

This was a good message. So challenging...
When i hear this kind of preaching, i just want to give up because it's so hard... but this was a good wake-up call. Thank you for reminding me that we haven't made it to the finish line yet. God help me and my friends to make it till the end.

No one can take the “promise of salvation” from you but you can absolutely let go of it.

Calvinism strips some warning passages in Scripture of their substance and urgency, and can create a blanket of false security for some people who are in a position where they NEED such warnings from Scripture. It's easy to warn OTHER people about hell. It gets more uncomfortable when Scripture warns YOU about it.

I feel like I’m going to have a panic attack at work after hearing this!!
This is impossible!
I was born again in 2015 and enjoyed a closeness with the Holy Spirit full of joy and peace for several years, but fell away and grieved the Holy Spirit during the lockdown. I have been struggling to rebuild my relationship with Him but can’t find the strength. I am terrified of going to Hell, but don’t know where to go from here?

I think an important distinction to make is that Jesus never actually says "the reason many wont enter is because they didnt strive." Rather, Jesus commands us to believe in him and those who believe in him are the ones who strive to obey him. Those who do not strive to obey Jesus do not believe in him. We can't get the cart before the horse. We aren't striving for salvation, thats already been completely earned for us by Christs sacrifice. We are striving to obey him because we have been saved. Does Jesus tell people who don't believe in him to strive their way into salvation? No. He calls us to believe in him and tells those who believe to strive, and we who believe WILL strive because he has regenerated our hearts and have new desires and affections to follow Jesus and obey him. At this point, people often quote the rich young ruler account where Jesus gives him the law in response to his question about how to be saved. But Jesus gave him the law in order to expose the young mans self righteousness, not to prescribe how to be saved. This also points to how believing can be the only mechanism to salvation because we can't keep the commandments the way the ruler thought he kept them.

You are absolutely not saved until you die faithful or Jesus returns to find you faithful. You are guaranteed to “be” saved if you hold your promise to the end. That is the message given in scripture

Christ Jesus did not serve for certain languages. He served everyone. You should also open the subtitle language translation function to all languages in your videos. This will not cause any extra cost to you.
