It's always when you're doing a tall tale and have no loot when people decide "NOW IS THE TIME TO ATTACK". It makes no sense lol.

Recently, i was solo slooping and was fishing at a ghost fort. A brig comes up with 3 active pirates, and i immediately offer the treasure from the fort as i was just here to use the stoves. They laughed that i gave up so easily and offered me an alliance, and let me keep the loot.

Then i went off and did a vault, and they got a reaper chest. They were getting attacked by a galley halfway across the map. I sold my loot and b lined to them. Rammed the galley, firebombed them, and killed 4 pirates before they sank.

Ended up saving the day. We all cheered, and i abandoned my ship to sail to port with them. Bought a firework crate and shot the whole load before logging. Never underestimate a solo slooper just doing their own thing. Might be a memerable ally.

I remember doing my first ever tall tale. Was on a solo sloop, got chased by a galleon crew who sunk my ship when I was on a small island. And I had to get to crooks hollow with the ancients chest. So I did what any crazy sailor would do. And swam all the was with the chest to crooks hollow. And somehow survived the swim.

Then I got my ship.

I remember a time where I was peacefully seeking my loot next to another pirate and he did not attack me (Gentleman, as he should) but all of a sudden he starts firebombing my ship! I kill him and stop the flames and we go about this a few more times I die and he dies until I fire bombed his ship a bunch. He was still fighting me but when I came to his ship I could see the smoke bellowing out of his ship and it was sunk, and he had not one but two emissary flags one order of skulls tier 1 and a good hoarder tier 2, I already had another gold tier 2 in my ship as well. It was a very good day.

If I would have gotten a penny every time someone offered a pirate a friendship mango I'd have 3 pennys. Which isnt a lot but its weird it happened 3 times.
