MESA/Boogie Head-Track™ Head and FX Loop Switcher Overview

The Head-Track™ provides switching functionality between two heads into a single, shared cabinet, while also simultaneously switching your front end or loop-based effects.

Dual-amp switching into a single cabinet has been around for a while, but it’s never been combined with FX switching into a small, remote switchable format like the Head-Track. Where dual-amp / single-cab switching has missed the mark is by not combining one of the more important parts of any signal path - the FX!

One of the great functions of the entire signal chain being combined into one device like this is in a backup rig situation. With input signal, FX and both amp’s speaker outputs switching into one cabinet, the Head-Track becomes the ultimate backup switching device.

The Remote Jack and an optional footswitch allow you to trigger the Head-Track switching from your pedalboard or other Tip/Ring/Sleeve controlled trigger, allowing you to keep cable runs short between your FX and your amplifier’s loops.

The Head-Track is the comprehensive and compact way to control multiple amps into one cabinet with all your FX along for the ride.

It would be great if the A/B switch you designed had the effects loop sharing capabilities as this device. Both awesome products but that feature would be a benefit for using two combos and sharing effects between the two.

I have a Krank Krankenstein + (120 watt tube) and a Randall 3003h (300 watt Solid state) that I would like to run into a Marshall 1960A 4x12 cabinet. I have used this to switch between the two for a while and it works fine. However, I used it like this before reading the manual and seeing that its only rated to take up to 150 watts. But I also know that Solid state amps are different. Will it hurt to run my solid state 300 watt Randall 3003H through this with my tube 120 watt Krank Krankenstein +?

Question- how do you handle heads using two different ohms with one cab? My jcm is 16o and my fender is 4o. Cab is set to 16o.

Is there a way to utilize switching of just the preamps and use the fx send to both power sections for stereo? Let's say I want to use my Mesa Nomad 100 as a master, but switch to a 2nd head to make that the master.

MESA/Boogie: if I connect 2 amplifiers using the Head-Track. Head A and head B, and head B has built-in reverb, can I use it without causing any damage or will I have to set it to 0?
