Cyclic Redundancy Check is a method of searching for errors in a communications system.

I'm Mr. Woo and my channel is all about learning - I love doing it, and I love helping others to do it too. I guess that's why I became a teacher! I hope you get something out of these videos - I upload almost every weekday, so subscribe to find out when there's something new!

Idk who you are, what CRC is, but DAMN, that board is awesome D:

Like in Eddie's Checksum video, this is one implementation of CRC where it heavily abstracts the procedure to make it easier for human beings. Normally this is done with XOR shifting based on a polynomial coefficient on both ends for verification, this keeps the procedure computationally simple as opposed to appending all words into a huge number and dividing with floating point like Eddie has suggested, at which point it can be often become infeasible performance wise.

Watch Jacob Schrum for a more in depth explanation on both these topics if you're serious about the field.

i think the video is stopped before you was going to say something....

Finally. I understood the logic of the CRC. Professor only explained the maths, divisions, etc. and not what is sent exactly to the receiver

This video was going so well and it then ended at the most crucial part 😒😒😒. Any full version somewhere?

It's really informative video. The examples in my text books involve crc using binary numbers which is quite confusing. This really helps me understand better 👍

Wow, those students couldn't even use a calculator on a PC. I don't think they have much of a future in this career field. You however teach well, but like someone else has said, this video is cut short.

THank you Eddie, I never hed the Idea of explaining CRC using Base 10. That really helps clearing things for the students. :-)
