Showing our kids how much we love them is great on Mother's Day or any day of the year...

Since my children, now 13 and 15, entered the world, they became my world. I thought I knew what unconditional love was before I had kids, but after I watched those little humans grow in me and birth out of me, I finally discovered true love.

I've heard many beautiful songs dedicated to mothers and the important work we do, but I wanted to write a song from mother to child. Long after I'm gone, I hope this song reminds my children know that no matter the ups and downs that happen in life, my love for them is forever.

I wrote much of this record on my own but for this one, I knew I wanted to co-write with a fellow mama/songwriter and Katie Boeck.

Her son was just a toddler and she didn't have any childcare so my mom watched him while we did the songwriting session. Katie asked me what I wanted to write about and I said, "Get ready. We're gonna cry."

Sitting in my living room we talked, cried, shared our ups and downs in motherhood, and wrote this song with all the mama love in our hearts.

I'm releasing it for Mother's Day and I hope that mothers around the world might join me in sharing this song with their children for many years to come.

I miss my mom. She's still alive, but she is narcissistic and has decided to walk away from the whole family, and disown me. Her first born son. She used to not be so nasty. She once had a sweet side which made her have a glow with her. I tried to start on a clean slate, but she said we couldn't. I constantly fear for her safety. I see her smile when I close my eyes, and there's so many things that remind me of her. People say that i shouldn't think about her, but as a son I feel like it's my duty to protect her from anything. It really hurts knowing I can't. I've been praying for her for over 13 years, and every since then, I've been wondering the same thing. When will God answer this son's prayer? I turned 25 last December, and for the first time in my life, she didn't pass me birthday wishes. The 25th birthday is a momentous occasion, and though I felt lots of love coming into my heart, there was still a mom shaped hole in it.
