FTM Phalloplasty Stricture Surgery Update

Last Friday I had a cystoscopy and stricture repair with Dr. Janiga in Auburn California. I wasn't sure what the outcome would be or if I would still be able to get my implants in December.. I decided to email Dr. Chen to ask.

Hi Cody! I’m glad to hear you are stricture free. I’m currently going through something like you right now as a trans woman. My stricture has reoccured after 1 month after urethroplasty surgery and I’m frustrated that I’m unable to urinate normally and comfortably. And it really has taken a toll in my social and everyday life. I’m getting it checked next month with my urologist but How did you cope and manage with this frustration? Did you suffer from any sort of post op depression? Every time I use the bathroom my anxiety kicks in. I’m just feeling helpless and just want to pee normally. Thank you for posting and sharing this video because it’s viewers like me that can totally relate to what you are going through. I’m super happy that you can now urinate normally.

Hey man I talked to u about a year ago. I'm going through same thing. I go to urologist in san Diego instead of going to San Francisco. I call Dr. Chen he advised me to go to a doctor in san Diego. I'm glad ur fix.💪💪

I've considered transitioning from female to male. Although it's scary, for years I've been unhappy in my skin, words can't express how much I want to be a male. I cry everytime I look in the mirror, I've been doing research and then I came across your video. Your videos are so inspiring I've learned so much more than any video and I can't wait to start testosterone and get the surgery done, though I know it's far away your videos still make me really excited and happy. I make really a really simple version that my mom made when we were kids and I searched online and found all the different ways ppl have been making them in their families. I would be interested to see what you came up with.

Did this surgeon do something differently for the stricture to not come back? Or was it just luck and could have been done by dr Chen? (Currently going through stricture complications) I’m 2 surgeries in and it keeps coming back
