I looked at Best Buy very early am and they had the R8 at 549$ Amazon still hadn’t changed their price so ordered from Best Buy. I’m getting gun shy at Amazon for selling used items sold as new or items says shipped but never get picked up.

Ever thought about doing a video on how to make a radar detector less prone to rattle with vehicle vibration? My R7 rattles like crazy.

I’ve tried plush electrical tape on the mount and it helped, but I’m wondering if some padding on the inside of the unit could help.

I got to do demo days with traffic police (RCMP) ridealong and they are training officers to use (instant on) of which we tested my uniden r7 with it updated the night before and sure enough my detector never went off all day. Only time it detected was when the police radar was left on for atleast a second. If police in canada is being trained on instant on then its going to be brutal to beat that lol

Amazon is going to eat returns on 2 of these R8s because they simply won't do pricing adjustments. I opened but didn't use one of them and they are taking it back. Another not opened, going back! The cheapest one will not get delivered until Saturday.

I just got a ticket in Georgia, police said he had me on radar at 85 when I know I was doing below 80 and my detector didn’t even make a sound ……is it possible for them to have lasered me without me knowing…..?

Greetings, I've been watching all of your old videos to smarten up. Great job, and thanks. I took advantage of the cyber deal and bought a uniden R4. I want to use it on my touring motorcycle, but not sure where to mount it and if it can be hidden or not. I can either hide it behind the fairing in front, or 3-d print a waterproof enclosure and mount it a little lower; in the air scoop above the front tire. I don't want to remove it when I park in public, so the 3d enclosure would be semi permanent. If I mount it a little higher in the front fairing, that would be more permanent. Any advice on mounting position? The enclosure would have line of sight with the exception of the enclosure material. Does the enclosure front (antenna side) need to be clear or can I make it from any plastic without compromising the signal? Thank you to anyone who knows these answers.

hey I got another question, so my r4 I bought brand new the instructions Manuel says printed in 2021, but the version of the detector is 1.30/1.26 and to my knowledge that's February 2024? So is it brand new?
