Two Friendswood men killed in crash with crane while on I-10 in Beaumont area

Dam, I work in Lake Charles and drive home to Houston every weekend with 2 of my coworkers. Just last weekend we were stuck in traffic on 10 and one of my coworkers said " It would be F'd' up if that crane just fell over on us" .

These two men were just driving home . Enjoy every day like its your last, because you never know people.

I live in Friendswood and know the street that lady is standing on. Prayers for the family in this hardest of times. I cannot imagine losing two loved ones in one day let alone in a freak accident. The road to healing will get better with time and they will be looking down on the families with nothing but love. RIP brothers.

That’s not a malfunction that occurred, that’s straight up structural failure on the boom of the crane in order to fold like that. The weird thing is, it doesn’t seem to have a load on the hook when it fell on top of the truck to cause that but then again that boom could have been overloaded on previous lifts and it’s structural integrity obviously affected in order to cause the boom to fold like that. The construction company will be sued. The construction company did not have the correct exclusion zone/ drop zone. Company safety man will be fired, rightly so. Avoidable tragedy. Period.
