In the comic world, there are a lot of heroes that are similar to each other, it just happens. Sometimes its intentional, other times it’s just trying to capitalize off the popularity of a certain character. Today we are going to be talking about that, in particular about ripoffs of superman like The Sentry, Blue marvel, Superior etc. Today on Top 10 Nerd, we'll be tackling some of these Superman Ripoffs with our list of the Top 10 Superman Rip Offs - Part 2.

No clue why Thor and Cap are even on this list. It's almost like whoever made the list doesn't actually understand what a rip-off/copy is and are just using weak semi-logic to force the weak argument

Captain America and Thor don’t belong on the list. Just because a character has some similarities to another character does not qualify them as a rip-off.

Saw Megamind once. And it was a pretty interesting movie. One the one hand I get why it was panned. But on the other I get why others like it a lot. For those who want to see a Megamind 2 I wish you the best of luck in getting your wish. Your going to need it.

Superman is a boring mary sue. Why would comic writers create Superman rip offs is beyond me.

Ion see how Thor is a rip off to Superman. Thor is a actual God and from Asgard and Norse Mythology and Superman is a Alien being from Planet Krypton. Yeah maybe their strength is exact but their powers are completely different.

Love Superman, one of my favourite superheroes and whilst some feel these characters are copies I feel they have all come into their own.

Goku isn't Superman (by my standards)
Goku takes his fights outside of the city or town doesn't risk lives
Superman takes his fights inside of the city or town does risk lives
Goku limits his Saiyan power on par of a human
Goku doesn't fire laser from his eyes

Is Sun God really a rip-off when the whole point was to have an unofficial Marvel vs DC moment during the Illuminati incursions? I mean, he was the closes thing Marvel could get to the real Superman without him being Superman, down to his personality and conviction. I think it was a very cleaver acknowledgment of the DC universe, even to the point that he defeated The Hulk has Superman has done in the past, and in turn was defeated by Doctor Strange by unleashing a demonic magical inter dimensional entity which is a known Superman weakness since he has no protection to magic outside off his natural raw physical strength. I think Sun God was more of a tasteful cameo than a rip-off.

to be fair to Icon, Superman has never beaten Icon either ;)
In the situations in which they've fought, the two generally realise they are being used as pawns/there has been a misunderstanding that got escalated and resolve the issue before the battle gets to the point where one or the other gains an upper hand/is forced to do any permanent damage to the other.

Supes has even made reference to the fact that Icon is among a very small number of people who have actually managed to really hurt him.

Superman himself was inspired by Doc Savage as Stan Lee said. Doc even had a Fortress of Solitude.

On top of everything else, Gladiator is a member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, all of whom (originally) were stand-ins for DC's Legion of SUper-Heroes, which would make Gladiator a rip-off of Superboy all grown upon.

I always thought more of Icon as the Martian Manhunter playing at being Superman. Heck, a barebones outline I did for the premise of a Martian Manhunter film adaptation actually used some Icon elements, even giving Rocket at his sidekick.

Ouch. Suprema is Supreme's adopted sister. I know as I followed the Moore reboot religiously for a while. .
