3 Day Backcountry Archery Solo Trip

I’m off again hunting in a new area. With bow in hand I start the search for elk climbing mountain ridges and just having a great time running around the mountains.

Old School: Don't be too quick to dismiss a single set of elk tracks traveling straight through the area. For the most part, elk are herd animals. They tend to seek out a herd when alone, ... especially cows. Follow the freshest track. It may lead you directly to a herd and possibly a bull. Especially if your wondering where the elk went to get away from human activity, you may now have a direction to hunt. Keep this old school trick in mind and you may not waste time just wondering through the woods.

It's sad that there isn't many places left the United States of America that hasn't been touched by man or de foristed and left the way it was . No elk but a beautiful scenery and time to relax and enjoy mother nature.
