1877 Cent Found Coin Roll Hunting Pennies - The Tennessee Box

You had me going on this one. I saw 1877 cent, and I couldn't believe it. I've only had one 1877 Indian Head Cent, and I didn't buy, or find it. My grandfather asked me to meet him at his bank as he wanted me to see his collection. This was in the late 70's. After looking with amazement at the collection he'd put together over a lifetime of coin roll hunting, and he'd buy the coins collected from parking meters in our town. He gave me his type collection, and a complete set of Indian Head Cents. I'm very fortunate to have grown up in a multi generational family of coin collectors.

Great find with the 1877! Real old obscure coins can be found every now and again! Back in 2013, I was able to find an 1863 Civil War Token in a cent roll!

The mintage of the 1877 cent from the Dominican Republic is only around 150, 000 higher than the 1877 Indian Head cent, and yet it's dirt cheap. Amazing find. There are a lot of terrific numismatic values available in old world coins.

Always like these box videos. Recently got an 1899 P Indian head in my change as well as a 44D merc last year. Always worth checking your pocket change never know what you’re going to find.

Just getting to this vid, Rob. I knew by the title that the "1877" wouldn't be the IHP. It's too much of a "spoiler". But even at that, the centavo you found still rules! Very interesting finds besides that. Liked the nice minty fresh 1969-S's you found! I'm starting to understand the difference between machine doubling and double dies. Keep on spreading the knowledge!

Just the other day whilst going through change I found a 1957-D wheat cent and a 1952-S wheat cent. Both of which I needed for my album and a 1948-S nickel as well as a 1979-S proof nickel!

i bought a 5 pound bag of american pennies off of ebay, found 2 wheat cents and a bunch of copper, even a few pennies with some really cool toning. would love to do hunts like you do, but I am Canadian and so far i haven't been able to get boxes of anything, just a few rolls at a time and of course we dont have pennies anymore being made. love the videos love the channel too!
