pro tip: never say "THEY did an experiment" when you can name the institution that did the study. Instantly more trustworthy.

I can't wait to see the well thought out paper the experimenters write detailing the results as well as the steps taken to insure scientific integrity

I personally haven't heard of this social experiment so I'm going solely based off of what I heard in this video, but wasn't the man calling her a bitch meanwhile she was calling him a bad father? Clearly, more people would step in when a person is being verbally abused versus when someone is being reprimanded for being a bad parent, though neither should happen.

I'm a single father....I can confirm this isn't just a parable.

Because, overwhelmingly, most violent assaults are by males and females are overwhelmingly the victims. People intervene because they know this, by fact or intuition. No mystery, no misandry. It’s common sense and empathy as women are more vulnerable to males who are physically stronger.

Honestly, this just makes me sad. I believe that both genders should be treated equally

This... is misogyny. They're acting like the man has to be tough and masculine 100% of the time and that the woman is too weak to actually do anything, so they don't say anything when the woman starts yelling. Not because they don't think she's doing anything wrong, but because they don't think she can actually do anything harmful. Misogyny (and mysandry, but this isn't misandry) negatively affect both genders.

Lots of people had an abscent or terrible father- perhaps they wished their mom would have said that! It was NOT "the exact same social experiment"!

Every time I get the opportunity to stand up for someone I always take it but I’ll be real. Every time I have stood up for a man I have been met with aggression from that man saying things like “I don’t need your help or sympathy” so most people are scared of the aggression turning on them and secondly our society is used to men being the villain but there are statistical reasons for that. I stand up for every person but the truth is what the truth is, either they don’t want your help and turn their aggression to you making your attempt something terrifying or more often than not they are the aggressors in the first place. These aren’t assumptions either they are statistics. If it upsets you be part of the change not part of the “defense”

That is so messed up man, wrong is wrong, boy, girl, man, woman, child adult. Do the right thing no matter what 💪🏾

Personal attacks will always garner more attention than character attacks. It's not rocket science. The latter, many assume a couple was just... arguing. Personal attacks feel more aggressive.

But fair enough, the way you explained it makes it look like he’s trying to be sexual with the woman and that the dudes just a bad guy

This is why I am telling everyone we as men need to stand up for each other enough is enough.

Just vaguely calling someone a bitch vs calling someone a bad parent are VERY different accusations...

The only surprising part is they didn’t join in against the man trying to take the woman’s side.

I wouldn't say it's reverse misogyny. In this scenario, the people dismissed the woman, and read aggression into the man. You could read those results as saying that people are dismissive of women's feelings. It does say a lot about how we perceive different genders though, and that does need to change.

I believe people intervene when there might be a risk of physical harm, when the person might lash out on the physically weaker one. If it were a woman hitting a weaker man, they would've intervened.

This isn't the opposite of misogyny, it's because of misogyny as well

wait - I guess there's a difference between a man insulting a women being a "bitch" and yelling at her personally (and for being a women - cause no one calling a man a bitch) and a woman who is yelling at a man being a bad father and awful person. First situation: he is obviously an ass'hole. The second one is about (maybe - for strangers, cause they dunno know the couple personally) the couple having an argument. And strangers automatically just seeing: she will have reason yelling at him like that.

U really can't compare these situations.
