That reminds me of walking into our courthouse with a sign next to the metal detector. That said in great big capital bold letters. "Coins are metal."
I asked the deputies whether that was a joke. They said no. In fact, it was not because of the sign was posted. People might believe that coins are metal, but without the sign they just refused to accept that the change in their pocket set off the metal detector. And we wonder why Americans can't have nice things.

I had 2 pennies in the pocket of my lovely pant suit. They yanked me aside like I had a grenade. 3 people with wands were going over me like a baptism. 2 pennies...

down here in the south we always get the, "are those steel toe?" funny story, i carry and i had to go to the courthouse for something one day and when it was my turn i got the steel toe question and i said yes, so when it went off they let me through. i did what i needed to do and when i got back in my truck i realized i forgot to leave my firearm in my truck, so i just "got away" with going through a metal detector with a firearm. PSA- DONT TRY THAT. lol where im from its very common for damn near everyone to carry and even go into small town government buildings without issue. i dont know why they had them on that particular day. unrelated but ive even got my drivers license photo taken with my hat on and it took a week for them to realize it and when the hard copy came in the mail they had a note saying to come back and retake it. lol
