The doctor in the middle who is talking to Soong is Lea Thompson, who has directed in this season of Picard also; and, of course, she was Marty's mom in Back to the Future lol.

I called the phone number on the 3d printed Q calling card!

You mention that you knew certain plot points from the photos that were released before the episode came out. This illustrates why it's not good to look at the preview photos or to watch the trailers.

We'll all wind up watching these episodes many times. But we get only one chance to see an episode for the first time. It's best not to compromise that experience.

The blood disease that is the origin of the Vampirism myth is called Porphyria.

What do you think the Butterflies are referring to? Just the butterfly effect? Jurati said they have to watch out for Butterflies, then Rios lands at the clinic "La Mariposa" (The Butterfly in Spanish), and then Q saying he's the flap of a butterflies wing...I think there was one other one that I missed but it keeps being mentioned.

I keep saying, since the first episode this season, Jurati IS the future Borg queen that opened the anomoly and drained all the power out of the federation ships.
But she's not bad.
Either all our characters die except Jurati as the new Borg, or they are all on the Borg ship. They need the power in order to fix what Q did. Knowing what will happen, they go into the future where all the federation ships arrive. I believe she actually prevents the self destruct. Why else would she stun everyone instead of kill or assimilate them.
She will get the power she needs then to fix the whole mess.
Then everyone resets back to the night when Picard was with Laris. He will kiss her. The anomoly appears but dissipates before they get there.
Our characters will have the memory of what they did.
I am pretty sure Q dies. I thought Q was a prankster, but this episode makes him seem extremely mad at Picard. Like he's trying to punish him. Maybe Q was given a punishment for his meddling and he seems to make Picard suffer. But I think he is dying somehow by the end of this.
The possibility that this is Picard's imagination is not off the table, but seems unlikely since we follow the other characters around doing things Picard wouldn't know about.

Apparently Adam Soong isn't special enough for even a 2x2 utility closet. No, he's appalled this panel so much that they decided to use the brochure table in the hallway and some random chairs found somewhere.

Weather its Laris or not this show needs way more Orla Brady. She is just wonderful

Anyone else notice those anti uv shields looked a lot like what was covering earth in the alternate timeline?

8:20 basically it's the Battlestar galactica spin:
Head Six = Borg Queen
Jurati = Baltar.
She will be influenced by the Borg Queen, but stay in control of her body. There will be no typical "assimilation" otherwise she would have turned already.

Nice nod to BSG and defiantly shows it was way ahead of its time, can't believe its almost 20 years old already.

This episode was the first time the season that a character reminded the audience that Dr. Jurati is a roboticist. Meanwhile, like every episode this season, still treating her as the "magical do anything science person". Apparently she can do lifesaving trauma surgery and program computer architecture she has never encountered while creating personal data whole cloth with no reference matter. Previously she has analyzed unknown sensor data that was baffling a Starfleet tech op while drunk with no context data, calculated warp drive and orbital vectors, adapted the wiring system of a ship whose design evolved in a foreign time line to interface with Borg technology, etc. etc.

Theory: The Soongs were great, but never the best at genetics. They've always had a hidden talent for cybernetics.

Ok remember on the bridge of the USS Stargazer just before the auto destruct the borg queen told picard to look up.. now I'm thinking that borg queen was Dr. Jurati

Gary Seven was not "supervising astronauts" he was there to make sure that the US attempt to install weapons (an orbital bomb) in place was unsuccessful.

Current thought is that Europa is probably the best candidate for life beyond Earth in our solar system. It has an ice crust with a liquid water core - which means life could survive there if there are the Europan equivelent of the "black smokers" (underwater volcanos) which support ecosystems pretty much independent of everything else. Can't see it being a wise decision to bring microbes back to Earth though, especially if they are sentient.

i think the twist is gonna be renee picard has to not be on the mission to correct the timeline and thats why q was trying to talk her out of it

I’m 66 years old. I’ve watched just about every non-cartoon Star Trek TV series, seen every movie (multiple times) but the Borg Queen still scares the nano probes out of me…

I think the reason Tallin looks so much like Laris is so that Orla Brady would have a bigger role in this season and get to act with an American accent hopefully opening up more parts in TV shows and films that call for it. Sir Patrick greatly respects Brady as an actor so he may have suggested the role of Tallin for her.

And so we learn more of the run-up to the Divergence. Q has decided, in the absence of his powers, to rely on his knowledge and psychological manipulation to achieve his aims. How utterly ruthless...

And this bit with Queen Annie taking a hostage...she used him to get to Jurati. Perhaps she meant for Agnes to kill her, perhaps not. But plans within plans are her forte...and she's achieved her goal with Agnes, as we've seen. Her transformation into a new Borg Queen will be very slow and gradual.

And so it begins. How terrifying...

Clearly, Laris must be this same woman in the future. If they can disguise as a human, then as a Romulan too. Picards guardian, but breaking the rules of interaction and Laris knows this. Other than that, she is simply some kind of emotional mirror, but that makes less sense. And evidence to the borg in episode 1 being Jurati is building. Also…those drones looking suspiciously like the grid in alternate 25th century Earth.
