Abigail Lapell: Live Concert | CBC Music Live

@abigaillapell performed songs from her new album, Anniversary at TD Music Hall. “Playing live is important to me because I love having the opportunity to connect with audiences and with my bandmates and with my own work as a collaborator,” Abigail Lapell told CBC Music. During her intimate show at TD Music Hall, Lapell created a cozy atmosphere as she played gentle tracks including “Blue Electric Skies” and “Wait Up” from her album, Anniversary. “It’s a bit of a departure for me, because it’s all love songs,” she told the crowd of the record’s themes. She wore a flower in her hair as she sang, passionately strumming her guitar while her backup singers harmonized beside her. Before starting “Ghost Stories,” she switched to playing the piano, building up to a rich belt on the final verse. The crowd was thrilled when she was joined by Great Lake Swimmers’ lead vocalist Tony Dekker for the sentimental song “Count On Me,” which Lapell described as a “love song about love songs.” Her set ended with “Stars,” a lullaby that brought the night to a soft close.
