Today, I take another nostalic and historic memory lane road trip to the cemetery. In this episode, I visit the famous gravesites of cast members from the 1970s classic TV show KUNG FU, staring David Carradine.

My grave site tours today include:

David Carradine (Kwai Chang Caine), Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, CA
Phillip Ahn (Master Kahn), Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, CA
Keye Luke (Master Po), Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA

I also remember actor Radames Pera, who played the yourn Kwai Chang Caine or Grasshopper. He's now 60 years old.

David Carradine came from a family of accomplished actors. His father and brother both had colorful careers in movies as well.

My nickname was Grasshopper when I was in elementary and high school because my last name was Hopper. I met David Carradine when he was one of the actors in The Long Riders. I was a housekeeper at the resort where he and the rest of the actors were staying. He was nice and didn't mind taking the time to chat.

A friend of mine was a stunt co-ordinator on the 90's Kung-Fu, The Legend Continues TV show shot in Toronto. He said David did not make it easy with his heavy drinking, and its the main reason the show was cancelled! Thankfully he then went into rehab. I loved the original show! Especially the beginning where he has to pick up the scalding hot pot! Thanks Steve! (When you can snatch the pebble from my hand! It will be time for you to go! )

"You always discover interesting things when you visit cemeteries" How true Steve, how true. That is why I just love exploring cemeteries. Glad to see there are others like me out there! I always enjoy your postings.

I've never seen a traffic jam in a cemetery. We would watch Kung Fu and The Wild Wild West every Saturday as a kid. Brandon Lee played in a movie done of Kung Fu if I remember correctly. I think he was either young Cain or his son. Great show that I miss.

Thanks Steve, one of my favourite shows at the time. It’s always interesting how many accomplishments are attached to people’s Memorials. Some famous persons say very little, some are overdone.

Being raised protestant, the show, as a pre-teen, influenced me to search other beliefs. Today I understand that all who see the One with a different face roaming around the bottom of the mountain, will eventually find the mystery the same at the top. We all who are one come to peace in the same Home. Happy early turkey to u and yours. Hi to mom...
